Jazzart provides a structured flexibility to develop your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses… from Classical to Juke box musicals and immersive productions, students are encouraged to embark on their professional journey while studying at Jazzart, building performance skills and professional etiquette to ensure employability.
Jazzart offers an in-person, full time study for HNC and HND in both Musical Theatre and Professional Dance Performance.
From commercial to contemporary Jazzart provides a technical structure in all genres of dance to develop skills to a professional level. Acting through dance and confidence to sing ensures all Jazzart graduates have the skills to progress in a successful professional performance or teaching career.

Fun and fabulous introduction to performing arts with dance, music and song. We offer our new Beat Boppers (Tiny – 3yrs.) accompanied by an adult our ever popular Tiny Twisters for children who can work as individuals with our highly experience teaching staff (age 3+).
P1 – P7: Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Hip-Hop plus professional performance opportunities through our casting workshops and agency provision. Be part of Jazzart’s Superstar experience.
S1 plus: Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Hip-Hop plus professional performance opportunities through our casting workshops and agency provision. ProCo for tomorrows professional. Graded vocational examinations plus SQA /UCAS credits
Jazzart students can build UCAS credits from S1 – the ideal way to build credits to assist your further education/career ambitions.
Ballet based fun class for adults 16 years+
The class will provide a full body stretch, strengthen core, and firm bums and tums.
Classes run in 5 weekly blocks throughout the year on Thursdays at 7.30pm
A weekly fun and fitness based dance class for 40 years +
No previous dance experience required
Bookable in 5 week blocks, Classes on Mondays at 8pm
Adult Tap is Wednesdays at 7.30pm
This class requires previous Tap dance experience and is for 16 years +

2023: HND students dance at the launch catwalk event of the Mary Quant Exhibition at Kelvingrove Museum and are currently auditioning for The OVO, Glasgow Panto Peter Pan and Motherwell Theatre and Concert Hall Jack and the Beanstalk.
2022: In Person shows and Panto return with performances of Elf at The OVO, Glasgow and Schools outreach Peter Pantoland
2020: Like many others… COVID19 see’s the school close its doors for the first time in its history! The age of digital dance and drama classes began with online tuition and Jazzart’s first ever digital PANTO Cinderella
2017: Jazzart Studio moves to its current home Windmillhill Street, Motherwell, Glasgow.
2011: Expansion of SQA courses to add full time vocational courses in Musical Theatre and Professional Dance Performance at Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) level
2004: JazzArt establishes Scotland’s 1st Independent Scottish Qualification Awards centre of Performing Arts.
1999: Following the death of founder Bette Clark, JazzArt comes home to Lanarkshire with it’s first Studio base
1998: Jazzart moves to Glasgow in association with Glasgow City Council and Creative Scotland providing Scotland’s only training Centre of excellence for Jazz dance.
1994: See’s The Scottish School of Musical Theatre become a Charitable Foundation and rebrand to Jazzart UK as we know it today. Expansion funded by Creative Scotland formerly Scottish Arts Council (S.A.C.) allows and Edinburgh base
1986: Sheridan rebrands The Clark Theatre School to The Scottish School of Musical Theatre
1978: Sheridan choreographed her first professional show for Anglia television following her return NYC.
1976: Sheridan’s career moves across the water to NYC to perform with Roger Minami in Pippin National Tour
1972: Bette Clark’s daughter Sheridan Nicol starts her professional Career with Jack Milroy and Ricky Fulton in productions throughout Scotland. (Francie and Josie) Then Moves to London to perform in Mike Yarwood show.
1944: Bette Clark establishes ‘The Clark Theatre School’ in Lanarkshire
1937: Founder Bette Clark UK Champion of Champion performs in Radio City New York
Currently touring in “Jesus Christ Superstar” with Julien Clary, Mia is a true triple threat performer with multiple international credits to her name, including “Footloose” for NCL, and an original West End cast member for “Tina the Musical”. While training Mia featured as Princess Auroura for RC Kelly Productions.
Initially a Dance student who found her niche in performance through our Musical Theatre programme, Rachel went on to be a social media superstar. At 6-foot-tall Rachel always knew she would have to seek alternative pathways to her chosen career in comedy and 2.3M Tik Tok followers and 268k Instagram followers enjoy her wit and self-depreciating humour daily.
One of our lockdown graduates, currently working his third contract for T.E.D in Turkyie leading an inhouse production company for TUI holidays. McKenzie has played leading roles in Panto since graduation. He continues to develop his comedy skills and standup, as he travels the world.
Worked professionally for Starbright productions while training at Jazzart for HND Musical Theatre. A recent graduate who currently headlines in “6 *” Cabaret , Cyprus. Previously a lead singer with “Anthem” resident in the Three Sisters, Edinburgh.
