Musical Theatre

Jazzart provides HNC and HND students a structured flexibility to develop your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses… The Musical Theatre course covers everything from Classical to Juke box musicals and immersive productions. Students are actively encouraged to embark on their professional journey while studying at Jazzart, building performance skills and professional etiquette to ensure employability.

Graduates of Jazzart Musical Theatre can be seen in West End shows, Musical European Tours, Holiday entertainment and characters in famous Theme Parks!

NPA – National Progression Award at SCQF level 6 has been developed to provide a platform for individuals from S3 and above who aspire to work within the performing arts industry.

Previous Drama | Musical Theatre experience is required. Entry to this course is by Audition.

NPA 6 Musical Theatre has been designed to develop: practical, technical skills; oral, written and evaluation abilities required within the industry

NPA Level 6 are made up of 24 SCQF credit points.

HNC courses provide the practical skills you need to a job in this case one in Musical Theatre and provide the theoretical knowledge your employer will expect you to have.

All the courses are made up of Higher National Units. HNCs are made up of 96 SCQF credit points and usually take one year to complete.

Jazzart offers one year in person full time study to attain an HNC Musical Theatre qualification.

HND is an additional year of study upon successful completion of the relevant Musical Theatre HNC.

All the courses are made up of Higher National Units. HNDs are made up of 240 SCQF credit points and our Musical Theatre HND usually take two years to complete

Some HNCs and HNDs allow direct advanced entry into a university degree programme. 

Jazzart offers two years of in person full time study to attain HND Musical Theatre and this can be a one year course if HNC qualification has been awarded previously.

Professional Dance

From commercial to contemporary Jazzart provides a technical structure in all genres of dance to develop skills to a professional level. Acting through dance and confidence to sing ensures all Jazzart graduates have the skills to progress in a successful professional performance or teaching career.   

Higher qualifications –  known as Highers are subject-based qualifications in Scotland that lead to further study, training, or work.

Highers are further education qualifications usually studied after National qualifications and assessed by a series of examinations. 

Jazzart offers Higher Dance to students of S2 and above with previous dance experience; entry is by audition.

Professional Teaching Qualifications

Post Study Jazzart offers a comprehensive teachers training qualification.
 
Become a fully registered and qualified dance teacher in association with the SDTA and the SQA.
Designed to develop teaching skills in a studio based setting. It will give you the knowledge and skills to structure and teach a dance class. You will gain practical teaching experience, class and time management techniques and evaluative skills by leading dance workshops. 
 
Qualifications cover the study of Jazz | Tap | Ballet
 
SDTA – The Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance, A Scottish dance association recognised worldwide. 
 
Our STDA teaching qualifications are Associate Diploma Level and we offer an additional SQA teaching module
